Introduction to Article marketing: the power of words!!

0

I confess that I’m a bit excited, this being my first post for the new category “Marketing”.

My intention to introduce the technique of Article Marketing in an easy way, so that novices can learn something new and immediately think of ways to use this methods.

First of all: what is marketing?
Even if everyone has heard the word “marketing” at least once in their life, I like to remind one of the many definitions (very similar indeed) that you can find in book, dictionaries or web sites: “Marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objectives”.

Please concentrate on the last part (“create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objectives”) and think about what happens everyday in the world wide web: people exchange information and products, opinions and data, audio and video. As you see the concept of marketing is present in our life more than we could expect.

And what about (Online) Article Marketing?
Article Marketing is simply a new way to apply this modern concept of marketing to the marketplace.

A subject who needs to promote a new service or product, has the necessity to attract the attention of potential “customers”. And how can a target be attracted to try something new? Promotion and press releases would be the first ideas, yes, but sometimes an advertisement is not enough, particularly if we think of the world of Internet.

Remember what we said: people uses Internet to be up to date, to get information, to read news!!!

Article Marketing is the answer: an advertiser prepares an article that can be interesting for a given target of people, then they ask dedicated online magazines to publish it (“The ezine wePromite Articles” is a clear example).

  1. The article must add real value to the readers;
  2. It must not be a press release and usually is not focused on the specific subject that needs visibility. The author should talk about something “parallel”, involve the reader and finally (only as a conclusion o the text) put a short promotion of the service or product (Example: to promote a Bed&Breakfast in Valencia, the advertiser could write something about the America’s cup and, at the end, highlight the difficulty in finding good places to sleep during the competition…);
  3. Of course a html link to the web site and the author contact details must be published at the end of the article.

The power of words!!!
Write interesting articles , inform people, share your knowledge: words are the most powerful tools to communicate. Follow this simple tip and you’ll reach your target.

I hope you enjoy this “lesson” and you can make a good use of Article Marketing. The nicest start for you could be to look at wepromite.com, submitting your site and publishing your first article!!!

Stay tuned
